Soziale Immunität
Evolution
Definition

These ‘social immune systems’ result from the cooperation of the individual group members to combat the increased risk of disease transmission that arises from sociality and group living." Sowie: "Primates and social insects have, in parallel, evolved sophisticated collective anti-parasite defences, for example, allogrooming behaviour to remove parasites from group members " In: Cremer, Sylvia; Armitage, Sophie A.O.; Schmid-Hempel, Paul: Social Immunity". Man spricht von altruistischer oder sozialer Apoptose: "Altruistic suicide of immature bees constitutes a social analogue of apoptosis, as it prevents the spread of infections by sacrificing parts of the whole organism and unveils a novel form of transgenerational social immunity in honey bees."
