Definition

In der Evolutionstheorie steht Gradualismus für die Idee, dass sich die Phänotypen, das heißt der tatsächliche Aufbau und das Verhalten von Organismen nur langsam und über viele im Kleinen angepasste Zwischenschritte verändern.^[1] Gegenpositionen sind der Saltationismus und der Punktualismus.
