• Darunter stehen die Definitionsbereiche für a, b und m.
  

• Falls a > 0 ist: m ganzzahlig, n beliebig natürlichzahlig.
  

• Falls a < 0 ist: m ganzzahlig, n natürlich und ungerade
  

• Falls a < 0 ist: m/n muss vollständig gekürzt sein.
