Lactose intolerance is a persons inability to properly digest lactose. Lactose is a form of sugar contained in cows milk. People with lactose intolerance suffer from gas, belly pain or bloating. Generally speaking, the proportion of people with lactose intolerance is higher the closer you get to the equator.
