• Der Katzenaugen-nebel ist ein von innen her beleuchteter planetarischer Nebel, erzeugt und illuminiert von einen sterbenden Stern auf dem Weg zu einem weißen Zwerg.
  

• Originalbeschriftung: The "Cat's-eye" nebula, NGC 6543, is a planetary nebula: the gas emitted at high speed from the surface of a star which is in the process of becoming a white dwarf. This one is complex possibly due to a binary companion's influence.
