• Der 193 Kilometer lange Suezkanal verbindet das Mittelmeer, oben, mit dem Roten Meer unten. Eine Durchfahrt kostet für große Containerschiffe oft weiter über 100 Tausend US-Dollar, spart aber gleichzeitig den Weg um Afrika und damit über eine Woche Reisezeit.
