- Die Erdatmosphäre in der Troposphäre (wo sich das Wetter abspielt). Für diesen Bereich gibt die internationale Höhenformel sehr gute Werte. Auf dem Photo sieht man eine Propellermaschine. Eine typische Flughöhe wäre 4000 Meter. Hier herrschen nur noch etwa 4 Zehntel des Luftdrucks wie auf Meereshöhe. Flugzeugmotoren erhalten dadurch weniger Sauerstoff und die Flügel erfahren weniger Auftrieb.
