Ein kurzer Bibeltext in verschiedenen Sprachen: man kann damit die relative Häufigkeit von Buchstaben bestimmen. Je nach Sprache gibt es dabei große Unterschiede. So hat Deutsch sehr viel weniger y's als etwa die keltische Sprache Walisisch.
Vorab
Je nach Sprache kommen unterschiedliche Buchstaben in normalen Texten eher häufig, andere eher selten vor. Das c und das z sind etwa im Polnischen relativ gesehen deutlich häufiger als im Italienischen. Die Kenntnis über die relative Häufigkeit von Buchstaben kann Robotern bei der Erkennung von Fremdsprachen oder auch der Entzifferung von Geheimcodes helfen. Siehe auch relative Häufigkeit ↗
